Media Distillery shortlisted for SportsPro Media Award 2026

Media Distillery has been shortlisted for Best SME Tech Company at the 2026 SportsPro Media Awards, recognising the work our team is doing to help sports media companies create better viewing experiences from the content they already have.

The category honours small and medium-sized technology companies delivering production-grade solutions and tangible value across sports media and OTT.

For Media Distillery, the nomination reflects a year of work with broadcasters and streaming services to make sports content easier to navigate, easier to catch up on, and available in more flexible formats before, during and after the live event.

Helping sports content work harder

Today’s sports fans don’t always want to watch a full live event or replay from beginning to end. Sometimes they want to jump straight to the moment that matters. Sometimes they want a quick summary. Sometimes they want to discover related content around a team, player or match. That is the challenge our Sports Engagement Suite is designed to solve.

Media Distillery automatically detects, tags and packages key sports moments, highlights, summaries, chapters and related content so streaming services can offer richer fan experiences without relying on manual workflows at scale.

Recent projects include work with Personal in Argentina and NLZIET in the Netherlands.

A richer World Cup experience with Personal

For the 2026 World Cup, we worked with Personal in Argentina to create new ways for Flow subscribers to follow the tournament.

The experience included automated match highlights and short-form trending-topic clips designed to help fans catch up quickly and discover more of the content surrounding the tournament.

Across the World Cup, the automated highlights generated 2.7 million views.

The project demonstrated how sports platforms can extend the value of live coverage by giving fans more ways to watch, catch up and stay engaged around the event.

Easier navigation for NLZIET’s Winter Olympics coverage

We also worked with Dutch streaming service NLZIET to automate chaptering across its Winter Olympics coverage.

The chapter markers made long-form coverage easier to navigate by helping viewers jump directly to the sports and moments they wanted to watch.

During the Games, 15% of viewers who watched Olympics coverage used the chapter markers.

It is a different use case from Personal, but it addresses the same underlying challenge: making long-form sports coverage easier and more flexible for fans to consume.
