CSI Awards 2026: Three shortlist spots for Media Distillery

Media Distillery has been shortlisted in three categories at the 2026 CSI Awards, recognising solutions that help streaming services make their content easier to discover, navigate and watch.

Founded in 2003, the CSI Awards celebrate technology innovation across the broadcast, video and streaming sectors. This year, our Search & Discovery Suite has been recognised in two categories, while the Tendencias experience we developed with Argentina’s Personal for the 2026 World Cup has been shortlisted for Best TV User Experience.

Search & Discovery Suite shortlisted in two categories

Media Distillery’s Search & Discovery Suite is a finalist for:

  • Best Advance in Content Discovery
  • Best Short Form & Vertical Video Deployment

Search & Discovery Suite analyses long-form video and generates the chapters, topics, previews and clips streaming services need to offer faster discovery and more flexible viewing experiences.

By automating work that would be difficult to complete manually across a large content library, the suite helps platforms surface relevant moments, give viewers a clearer idea of what to watch and make existing content available in formats suited to different platforms and viewing habits.

The two shortlist places reflect the breadth of the suite. The same underlying video analysis can improve navigation within full programmes, support richer search and content rails, and create short-form or vertical clips for viewers who want a different viewing experience, including on mobile devices.

Tendencias recognised for Best TV User Experience

We’re excited to see the CSI Awards recognizing the innovative Tendencias user experience we helped to create for subscribers to Personal, Telecom Argentina’s connectivity and entertainment brand for the this summer’s World Cup. The project has been shortlisted for Best TV User Experience.

Tendencias gave viewers one place to find live matches, schedules, automatically generated highlights and related tournament coverage.

Media Distillery’s Sports Engagement Suite analysed every match in real time, detected the moments that mattered and assembled tailored highlight summaries within minutes of the final whistle. These auto-generated round-ups allowed Personal to offer highlights from every game, rather than limiting coverage to selected headline matches.

The experience also brought together relevant coverage from around the tournament, including player and coach interviews, studio analysis, press conferences, expert commentary and discussions. Automatically generated titles, descriptions and thumbnails helped Personal organise this material and make it easier for viewers to explore.

The shortlist recognition demonstrates how automated video analysis can support a complete sports viewing experience, helping fans catch up quickly while also discovering more of the stories, people and conversations surrounding each match.

Recognising better ways to find and watch video

Across both shortlisted solutions, we’ve focused on reducing the distance between viewers and the content they want to watch.

Search & Discovery Suite makes long-form libraries easier to explore and brings content into new formats. For Tendencias, the Sports Engagement Suite applied the same approaches with specific adjustments for the needs of major live sports events. We combined speed, editorial requirements and technology to create a viewer-friendly destination for all relevant coverage.

The winners of the 2026 CSI Awards will be announced during a networking reception on 11 September 2026, the opening day of IBC.

The news follows Media Distillery’s recent shortlist recognition in three categories at the 2026 Streaming Media European Innovation Awards.
