Amsterdam, February 8, 2024 – Media Distillery, leading AI technology provider in video UX optimisation, announces that Norlys, Denmark's largest integrated energy and telecommunications provider, has gone live with EPG Correction Distillery™ to enhance user experience for its video service customers.

EPG Correction Distillery has been integrated across Norlys’ 50 most popular TV channels, and went live in Q3 2023. 500,000 Norlys TV service subscribers now benefit from accurate EPG information, and can select and enjoy programming on catch-up and replay without missing one moment of their desired content.

Award-winning EPG Correction Distillery uses Deep Content Understanding™ to automatically identify and label features, and insert time markers in audiovisual media. TV service providers can leverage this to enhance the presentation of programmes and deliver better viewing experiences.

EPG Correction Distillery gives viewers a more harmonious user experience because it ensures that EPG programme schedule information is accurate. TV service linear broadcasts don’t always align with EPG TV Guide information. Without correction, on replay or catch-up, the viewer might experience the end of the programme being cut off, or they might see the end of the preceding show. Both situations can be jarring, and reduce enjoyment.

EPG Correction Distillery, part of Media Distillery’s Time Marker Suite, uses AI to automatically analyse broadcasts across multiple channels, in real-time, and makes adjustments so as to ensure alignment with TV guide information. As a result, users can trust the schedules in their EPG, leading to harmonious viewing.

As it leverages AI to harness and analyse video and data, EPG Correction Distillery has proven to be scalable, making it the ideal technology to enhance user experiences across a subscriber base as it grows.

Norlys’ customers now join over 30 million homes around the globe currently enjoying superior UX thanks to Media Distillery technology.

Jacob Vestergaard, Director of TV at Norlys said:

“Providing our customers with the very best user experience is our top priority. With the deployment of EPG Correction Distillery, we’re enhancing our Streaming app Norlys Play, and we are certain that our customers will acknowledge this great improvement of data.”

Roland Sars, CEO of Media Distillery said:

“We congratulate Norlys for demonstrating its commitment to customer satisfaction. We're extremely proud of the trust shown by Norlys, and we look forward to supporting the company going forward."
