Media Distillery has won the Young Business Awards 2017, the prize for the most promising startup of the Netherland. After an incredibly exciting final in the Atlas theatre in Emmen (NL), Media Distillery was awarded the trophy and 12.500 euros in prize money. Our own prince Constantijn of the Netherlands was present on behalf of StartupDelta.
The Young Business Award is a prize awarded to a young startup (up to 5 years old) that has the potential to grow into leading player in their industry. Media Distillery was selected as one of the twelve semi-finalists and made it through to the finals after a strong business pitch. During the final, the five remaining startups were asked to give a 60-second business pitch followed by questions from a professional jury. Media Distillery was able to convince the jury and came out on top!
Jury chairman Ben Woldering, founder of the Bencom Group, explained their decision: “We picked Media Distillery because they have proven that their product and business model has the potential for high and fast scalability. The great team of entrepreneurs shows that the company has quickly grown in their early years of existence. As a jury, we are confident that the company will continue to grow in the upcoming years and that Media Distillery will establish itself as a dominant global player in the industry.”
Roland Sars, the CEO of Media Distillery, was delighted with the award:
“This is a validation of our hard work and shows that we are heading in the right direction to become the market leader for real-time metadata in video content.”
