IBC 2022 Recap

After 4 insightful days, IBC has now come to an end. The world's most influential media and tech show returned for the first time in three years and it was a great experience. Not only to be attending but also to be exhibitor and to have had two speaking sessions. 

Let's recap Media Distillery at IBC 2022!

For the 4 days of IBC, we exhibited at our booth in Hall 5 for Content Everywhere. Here we demonstrated our solutions and latest innovations in a real life context to several hundred people. This is reflected in our stock of stroopwafels, as it is greatly reduced! We hope you enjoyed them!

Speaking sessions

IBC started off with our CEO Roland Sars speaking at a panel discussion about discovery, personalisation, and engagement. Here he explained about how the holy grail for video services is to provide seamless viewing experiences by presenting the right content to the right people, at the right time.

This was followed by a speaking session with our Head of Product, Martin Prins together with Sander Kouwenhoven, the CTO of NLZIET, about how our technology boosts user engagement and content discovery.

CSI Awards

On the same day, we also won a CSI Awards with Topic Distillery™ for the second consecutive year, in the category of 'Best use of AI or Machine Learning in video.' With Topic Distillery™ we enable broadcasters, pay-TV operators, and OTT streamers to provide their viewers with enhanced viewing experiences. We do this by providing chapter-based playback and automatic topic detection, this resulting in increased discoverability and viewing time.

The CSI Awards is a prestigious annual awards ceremony which promotes recognition for excellence in the cable, satellite and broadcast industry. Click here to read more about the award.

Media Distillery also organised a dinner with our top customers and partners at MOMO in Amsterdam on Sunday night. We were very happy to receive you there and enjoy good food together!

IABM Interview

Our Head of Product, Martin Prins concluded the 4 days of IBC with an interview with IABM. What are trends that keep the video industry busy? How should video providers keep their viewers engaged? These and more questions were discussed in the interview.
